Both men and women would love to have a six pack of abs to enable them to show off but most are not willing to do what is necessary to get to this stage or level of body condition. In all honesty we all have a six pack of abs but, unfortunately, they are hidden below our belly fat. So the solution to the problem is finding suitable lower ab exercise that can help us get rid of belly fat while also toning our abs.
It also helps to add cardio exercise in addition to your lower abs exercises, to help your body burn fat overall.
If you ever watch TV late at night or on weekends I’m sure you’ve seen the many ab machines advertised there that help you to do your lower ab exercise routine. It has been my experience that many people buy exercise equipment with the unrealistic expectation that the machine will somehow motivate them to do the lower abs exercises and get the results they want. The sad truth is that in most cases the machine ends up collecting dust until it eventually gets thrown to the curb at garbage day.
Today, as I write this some of the most popular of the lower ab exercise machines are the Ab Circle Pro, the Ab Coaster and the Ab Flyer so if your preference is to workout with a machine to help you do your lower ab exercise then choose from one of these. These are very affordable machines that, when used in conjunction with proper
eating habits, can help you to achieve your desired abs.
Your alternative, if you choose not to buy an exercise machine, is to do lower ab exercise at home by using your own body to do the exercises. Consider these lower abs exercises below and choose your favorite lower ab exercise or do all of them if you are so inclined;
1. Abdominal plank exercise
This exercise is excellent for flattening your stomach. It allows you to work your entire ab region, and is
also great for strengthening your lower back muscles. Start out by laying on your stomach on the floor, elevate your body with your elbows and hands flat on the ground, steadying yourself with your forearms and hands. Place your legs out straight and rigid. Most of your weight will be resting on your toes and the underneath of your forearms. Your body once elevated will form a straight line.
There’s not a great deal of movement to this exercise, you simply hold your position whilst holding in your abdominal muscles. Hold this position for 12 seconds, then release and have a rest, then repeat this and try to work up to a minute or two. Be sure to keep breathing as you hold yourself in this position.
2. Reverse Crunches
Reverse crunches are the opposite of crunches where you raise your upper body towards your legs. This activates the core and in particular the lower abs because they are what control the legs during this workout. When it comes to lower ab exercise, the reverse crunch is one of the most effective.
To begin lie down on your back and keep your lower back against the floor. Then lift your knees towards yourself. Your lower back will raise from the floor. Hold this position for a second. As you progress you will be able to increase the time as you build more stamina. Spread your arms apart and use them to support yourself, exhale while lifting your legs and squeeze your abs in the upper part of the movement, similar to a crunch movement.
3) The Bicycle
Bicycle crunches are a form of lower ab workouts that are extremely effective for the upper, lower and oblique abs because they are all being engaged during the exercise. To do this lower ab workout, lie on your back and bend your knees, then lift your legs and upper body and bring your elbow to the opposite knee and vice versa, and repeat. This lower ab workout doesn’t require any equipment at all, and is extremely effective as a combination workout.
Lower ab exercise seems to be the main focus of people wanting to get sexy lower abs, but it shouldn’t be. The truth is that you need to lose belly fat as well in order for your abs to show.
The key is consistency. You must consistently eat a well balanced diet and do regular cardio and lower ab exercise in order to get and maintain flat, toned abs.
